Description

Golden Eagle Audubon Society members are invited to enjoy three days of guided birding and two nights at the Cold Springs Campground in the Payette National Forest near New Meadows. The group site is accessible and can accomodate tents and RVs.  There are no hookups. Potable water is available. The campground in a beautiful forest home to Mountian Chickadees, Ruby-crowned Kinglets, Red-breasted Nuthatches, Canada Jays, woodpeckers, grouse and other birds. Lost Valley Reservoir is very near, and the Lost Creek Interpretive Site is a great place to bird. eBird Hot Spot  We expect to find spring migrants along with resident birds. We will also bird in riparian habitat along the Wesier River Trail.

Our evening program on Sunday will be about the endangerd Northern Idaho Ground Squirrel. This very rare mammal lives in and around the campground.

We will have group dinners in the evenings with some food and supplies provided by Golden Eagle Audubon. We'll serve coffee and fruit in the morning too. 

Families and children of all ages are welcome.

Registration fee:  $100 per adult, $25 for child 7-17, free for child 0-6.  No discount if you only come for one night.
