- $40.00 - Adult
Summary
Description
Golden Eagle Audubon Society and National Audubon Society members are invited to come to beautiful Bull Trout Lake campground in the Boise National Forest near Banner Summit for three days of birding and two nights in camp. The group site is accessible and can accomodate tents and a limited number of trailers or RVs no longer than 60 ft. You can read more about the campground here.
The itinerary will likely include an optional July 17 early day bird walk at Schoolhouse Gulch or Station Creek on the Banks Lowman Highway and an afternoon walk at Bull Trout Lake. We'll host a group dinner with GEAS providing soup and a dessert baked in a Dutch oven along with drinks. Please bring food to share. After dinner, we'll have a campfire program and learn about Idaho's endangered salmon. There will be plenty of mountain birds at the campsite to enjoy with your coffee each morning and we'll plan one or two excursions in the Stanley basin for July 18. It's a perfect place to find five species of woodpeckers and sapsuckers! Or maybe some will want to see salmon swimming up Bear Valley Creek. A side trip to Grand Jean could be planned for July 19 on the way back to the Treasure Valley. There's fishing, biking, canoeing, relaxing and stargazing too.
Families and children of all ages are welcome.
Registration fee: $40 per adult, $10 for child 7-17, free for child 0-6. No discount if you only come for one night.
